It has come to my attention that several people on this site like to write articles about subjects they seem to feel strongly about but OBVIOUSLY know nothing about the truth. I have written this article to clear up any lies that were said in the article Tobacco and Teens Today.
Yes, ODonZOLOFT, it is a shame how many teens are smoking nowadays but it was just as bad 40 years ago and it is actually getting better. My father and I have had discussions on this many times. If it's not just as bad as it was then, its actually getting better. I believe the legal smoking age was raised to 18 after my father gradguated. When he was in school they had a smoking area for teens that wanted to have a smoke before class.
Yes, teens then also experimented with drugs. They were just as bad as teens today. I don't know about the kids in your school, but most of the teens in mine have morals and have chosen not to do drugs. It does seem like an overwhelming amount of teens do, but an overwhelming also dont.
I am positive that every city in the United States it is illegal for anyone under 18 to smoke. So if your friends are walking down the street smoking a cigarrette that someone over 18 bought them they could get fined. My brother is 17 and he has 5 fines from doing that. He also did drugs and he got treatment and doesnt anymore. That is because of all the treatment centers we have now that are much better than the ones we had before. You are very wrong about your friends being able to smoke underage as long as someone of age buys for them. It's such a shame as to how someone could get online and write an article like that. It is a huge lie and some people might think what you are saying it is true. I find it rather embarrassing. |
