I was watching tv lastnight when i saw a movie about children of the world and how they were slowly dying, they had children in Costa Rica crowding the streets, homeless and sniffing inhalents while the local police brutally murder them for the sport of it; saying that they are cleaning the streets of dirt. but the one that most caught my eye was the one about Mentally Challenged Children in the country of Greece and how they are treated.
In Greece a marriage can be stopped in one of the children is "mentally deformed". In Greece a mentally challenged child is a disgrace to the family so they are sen to prison like holding/facilitys so that they may live there there lives without a family, without emotionally happy days, without freinds. Most of the adults that were adimmited in the 1960's have not been evaluated since the day they came to the facility, mony of them fliuently speaking English. in a talk with one of the adults you could see that she was done a grave injustice by living her life in this hell, she said, "Yes I'm mad at my parents whom i do not remember, but know only as the demons who put me here. they only wanted me gone because i was blind in one eye."
All of the children and adult in the facility's are shackled to the beds with locks and starved to nothing but bones. how can these conditions exist in such a mordernized country as Greece? Upon visiting one of the facilty's we were brought to a room were two children were in a Cage (like the one you dog has) no bigger than a babies bed, they had been put in the cages years back and have not been out of them since. many of the children were soaked in there own urine, crying from hunger. one has to know that these children have been in these prisons for years upon years and have recieved no medical treatment and hence there conditions have only got worse in the years.
These places though wrong and inhumane still thrive in the "modern world".
