Teenagers take the blame for many things. Vandalism is automatically held against teens. When an adult here's the word fighting they think "kids". But is it really the case? Society try's to make sure that us teens stay out of trouble. Yet when we are staying out of trouble and just hanging out we aren't allowed to. Because that is loitering. Well here is something that pissed me off. There is a mall that I go to and all of my friends go there and we just hang out since we don't live in a big city and we really don't have too much excitement going on here. Well recently we were told that we cannot sit on the curb outside and if we do they threatened to call the cops. Yet if an older person goes and sits down on the curb they don't get hollered at or threatened. When we asked them why we couldn't sit there anymore they said because there were too many ciggarette butts in the flower bed. Well not all of us smoke!
Here's another case of discrimination. My friend has been trying to get a job for about 6 months now. He can't go to another town to get a job because he has no means of transportation. There are about 50 different places around town that he could get a job out, he qualify's for everything. But they won't hire him because they have heard his name too much. He dressed up nice and proper for the interviews, spoke well, and turned in his application on time and completely truthfully. Why won't anybody hire him? Because he is not well liked in this town. Society is thickheaded. |
