E-mail: Spam In Your Inbox (this one)

There are a few things as web surfers that we must put up with. One of them is junk mail in our 'inbox'. How many times have you gotten e-mail that tells you it can solve all your credit problems, or tells you where you can find the best porn on the net for free. Some of it says it can make you millionaire all you gotta do is forward this letter and mail someone a dollar or put your name at the end of the list. One of the worst types of spamming I hate is the forbidden FWD:fwd:fwd:fwd:fwd:fwd. Damn, how I hate that! Where do these people get off sending me this trash? Sometimes junk mail comes with a link that says reply with 'remove' and they'll take you off their list, that's a bunch of bull! It seems to me that when I try that I get even more crap.
Where do they get our e-mail addresses from? You may ask. Well, I'm not an expert but from what I can tell is this. Sites often ask you to put your e-mail address down. In turn the site sells the lists to vendors, who sell the list to more vendors and than once your e-mail address is in the circle you get a neverending tide of trash worthy e-mail. It seems like there's no end in sight. Someone once told me that when you recieve those e-mail jokes that were forwarded that there's thousands of Blind Carbon copies (Bcc:) and that vendors circulate this kind of stuff to round up a good number of active e-mail accounts to send crap too.
Is there any help? Well, here's a suggestion that's helped keep my inbox a lot less cluttered than it would be. If you have an e-mail address that you use frequently for family and friends, don't ever input it on a site. Instead make an account just for that purpose. Use this account whenever you are asked and/or required to input an e-mail account to receive a password or confirmation number of some sort. For instance when you first sign up for this site it asks that you supply an e-mail address. With all the free web-based e-mail out there it's a breeze to setup an account for web surfing. Also when you sign up for these accounts, never use your real name when signing up. Your information is private and no one has the right to know your real name, not even the e-mail people. make a name up or use a nickname grandma gave you when you were little, anything but your real name. Never give out your phone number, your home or mailing address, where you go to school, or any information that can lead some stranger to you. This is not paranoia, just caution, we do not live in a perfect world, kids. I hope I've given some info to help at least one person out there, whose pulling their hair out with stress over e-mail spam.

I love feedback, so PM me and let me know how you liked (or hated) my article.
