Most people get nervous for interviews, but having social anxiety makes it 10x harder. I have a job interview next week and I'm dreading it. I can't get my mind to think about anything else. :(

On top of the normal worry about saying the right things and making a good impression, I have a hard time dealing with the intense one-on-one nature where I have to be "on" the whole time, and not shying away, blending into the background or looking for the exits. Man I hate interviews. I'm afraid I'll have a panic attack.

Argh argh argh, I feel your pain!

I've been out of school for quite a while, and sporadically have been looking for work, but getting more steady now. I can't put much effort into it because of the fear of actually being sucessful with the job search and actually having to go to an interview.

I had a total break down the other day when a store actually called me up, then started to have a phone interview with me... i was okay with the first two questions... but the third i was stumped and i didn't say anything... :| etc. Just felt so stressed and under pressure with everything, and me not having a job, or money to do the things i want to do, and not being able to live to my fullest potential because of social issues!

I cannot think on the spot at all, well when under intense pressure, my brain just turns itself off or something. Makes me angry because I'm not dumb or slow, and I see people who purposely act poorly at a job I would like to have.

Anyhow... how did you go? As it IS more than one week after you posted this...? I hope you did good.

I'm told that you just have to practice mock questions, and be as prepared as you can for it, and it makes you feel a bit better. I've practiced and did some mock interviews and I feel a bit more confident.

I think it will be better if one can just relax, and not make such a big deal of these things, as they happen everyday, people everywhere are doing job interviews, and it's not like the interviewer wants you to fail or anything...

Well i shall be off now... rant rant rant.
