| hey guys. Well to cut a long story short i went to theropy today and most people there who were talking can't feel anthing cos they are too scared to feel happy cos they then know they will be depressed. So they find it easier to stay depressed so they can't be hurt or dissapointed. Does anyoneelse get this. I feel emotion nearly all the time but jst don't have the right tools to exprss it yet. Well not in an appropriate way. | |

| is that cos your too scared to of getting hurt? i know what you mean about putting up a shield of false happiness. i do that. I pretend that i'm someone who im not so my true emotions won't show through. | |

| I don't rly have BPD, but i'm often called emotionless. I resent that though, i have as much emotion as the next person but i usually prefer to keep it within, easier that way i guess. | |

| know what you mean fatality. It must be horrible to be called emotionless. I guess peope just don't like to show their true feelings and we all react to events differntly. We are all human after all no matter what are problems are. We should be treated like other people. Sorry if talking crap just feeling bit bewildered by todays events.lol! | |

| yeah my friends in the group are like that. Full of anger. Ihave anger inside but i actually take it out on myself rather than others apart from my mam. I'm talking like they can't feel happiness or sadness. Like me its either black or ehite no in between. i guess. | |

Yeah I usually try to pretend to be happy, cuz for one it's the normal usual thing to do, and also I don't want any random people knowing my emotions. It's like privacy for me. But I don't get the wanting to be depressed so you don't know you could be happier. (?) If you don't feel anything because you're afraid of being happy clearly you've been happy before and you're just afraid of not being happy (?okay now I seriously confused myself) ignore that last sentence. Anyway I am sure they have emotions, it's just that it's hard to deal with, all the sadness and depression and anger... Those people who called you "emotionless" are stupid and shallow, Fatality. Just because they don't see it doesn't mean it doesn't exist... god I hate those types of ppl |

| yeah me too fantasy. I think one person explained to me that she had joy as a child by geting a present then things turned bad from there so she now can't feel that joy cos lt leads her to that pain. I've realised that there are a lot more worse people than me. But yeah fantasy you hit the nail on the head.xx | |

I wonder why people have to go through all this pain.. is it how we're born? or our parents? environment? :( Yeah when I think about it I really have no problems except myself. I don't know why this is... I don't have alcoholic parents who beat me up or anything ... dunno, but the pain I feel is real to me. |

Problems are relative. It may be a tiny problem to others but its still a problem you need help with. Some are better at coping than others, or portray themselves as such. Just because its not that apparent, it doesn't mean there nothing there, you know? And fantasy, the problem isn't you, you're an amazing person :) |

| the thing is with BPD like fatality said it can be a tiny problem but we have a chemical missing in our brains to control our emotions in a better way so we are more distructive or more emotional than others. My probs stem back to childhood but i was more menatlly abused. and when i was 20 i was i hate to say it but im use to it now raped. Im not blaming this on why i ahve BPD. its an emotional deficiency. We just need to get the right tools in place to control them. The pain we feel is real! we just can't respond as well as others i guess.xx | |
