I was wondering, is it normal for someone with DPD to have a hard time getting over someone from like a really young age and have it in your head that there the one and have it affect your entire life....

Cause I can't get this guy I dated named Dallas out of my head, I know its been 7 years. I seen him about 3 years ago. No matter how I try and move on I can't stop thinking about him, Im just wondering is this something I really feel or is this is just part of DPD?

Hi,

Sounds like you're really stuck. I wonder if you're looking to Dallas to meet a need of yours that you're not meeting for yourself? And it might go further back than that too. When you're feeling crappy about Dallas, ask yourself if you used to feel like this when you were a kid, or if there is anything familiar about this feeling. That might shed light on deeper issues stemming from not having whatever it was you were needing from your mum or dad.

I can image this would be so terrible to experience. Actually, don't need to image, I had my own "Dallas". The situation is made worse if "Dallas" is still hanging around and giving you mixed signals. Is that happening for you?
