October 8 is national depression screening day in the US. These screenings are FREE. Depression is estimated to affect nearly 20 million Americans, and many of those have not sought help. If you believe you suffer from depression but have not been seen by a professional, this is your opportunity to get a free depression screening.

Find a location in your area offering the free screenings. Some locations may require an appointment, while others accept walk-ins. Don't miss this opportunity.

A chance to talk to someone in the field of psychology (though it may be an intern depending on the location) about one's possible depression. This is short of an actual diagnosis, but a possible first step towards identifying the problem and making a decision about treatment.

Why dont they call it assessment instead? Screening sounded like a voluntary concentration camp or something -.-

None of those locations I can walk to. Because if I go there, I'll obviousl have to walk ... haha like my parents would take me to a DEPRESSION SCREENING CENTER.
