| So yeah ive had electroconvulsive treatments and they worked...well for at least a couple of months and then i had to have more. The only bad thing about them is the memory loss and the headache afterwards. My memory came back after about three months and they give you medicine for the headache. | |

| I'm scared of ECT mainly due to the stereotypical hospital movies where the detached doctors/nurses strap a raving maniac to a stiff board and run electricity through his brain, him screaming and convulsing all the time. I know it's (probaby) not true, but media's done its work on me. :( | |

| But my psychology teacher used to be really depressed and he told us he had ECT and it changed his life (for the better), so it's probably not that bad | |

There's nothing "mutilating" about it...its all about the movement of chemicals in your brain.Plus its a last resort...some people actually need it to live. Im also borderline and borderlines hear s--- like that...get angry and then hurt themselves...like telling me to go and kill myself...NOT COOL...and i will never stoop down to your level and say hurtful words like that to anyone! |

Better that you die on your feet than live on your knees. I would never trade my intelligence or health for anything. Your a pathetic pussy, crippling yourself like that, and you arent fit to live in this f---ing world. |

| Thanks K8, good to know. Whatever works. I am afraid of the memory loss but depression damages memory/the hipppocampus like crazy too, though apparently it's temporary... Good luck to you. | |

Your depression is temporary, the brain damage from ECT is permanent. The emotional dynamics pertaining to depression is located deep in the middle of the brain. Sending a shock that deep will kill or severely cripple you. Shocking the surface will do nothing to cure the depression and will do a little damage. Continue the session and guess whatll happen. Congratulations on getting all A+ in your classes. You are about the 50th loser I know superficially excelling whos not gonna live a long time. If you messed with electroshocking your head, it tells me youve done no research on it whatsoever, otherwise youd madly avoid it. You dont appeal to me as intelligent at all. Intelligent people can alleviate their depression and have a higher tolerance for grief and emotional pain. But you know what? Seriously, congratulations on your A+ grades. I did not even finish high school so I had to take a GED, and had to fnish an equivalency test in Canada since they dont recognize a GED being the same quality as a diploma. I'll remember your success when i'm sitting on your grave 10 years from now, when i'll get my degree and save up enough to buy my own lab. |
