| News coverage of swine flu has been widespread and some would say over-the-top. Do these sorts of events--threats of pandemic--drive up one's health anxiety? I am curious if anyone is willing to share how such news coverage effects your health anxiety level. Please give us your thoughts. | |

| It frightened me at first, but my family, knowing how I am, were quick to put it into perspective for me. "Only people with underlying health conditions were dying from it." WHEW. Oh, wait! What if I DO have an underlying health condition?! Safe to say, I was washing my hands and using disinfectant a little more than usual or necessary... | |

| i am a hyperchondriac, and i currently have a flu. i am contantly wondering if i will recover or if it is the 'deadly' swine flu. after hearing media reports of generally healthy people dying from it, my mind is going insane and yes media reports do effect me greatly in this flu epedemic. if they say something good about the flu my worries go down but as soon as something bad is mentioned i go into a state of panic. | |
