I have added a moderation system due to the increase in confrontational/offensive posts lately. No moderators required. Just a link on each post (visible only to logged in users) that lets you report to the forum software that a given post is offensive.

Your reporting of a post for being offensive is assigned a weight based on several factors, including your user status (higher=more weight), how many posts you've reported recently (higher=less weight), and how many of your own posts have gotten reported (higher=less weight).

If, based on this communal user moderation, the forum software recognizes that a post is offensive, the text of the post will begin to get grayed out and shrunk as a penalty. This will be a visual cue that other users have reported this post, allowing the discerning reader to skip over it if he or she chooses.

If enough users say that a post is offensive, it will be deleted automatically.

Hopefully this will help to keep these forums constructive and free from insensitive or hurtful posts.

One additional note: reporting the same post multiple times is pointless, because the forum software will only count it once. You'll get the same "Thank you" message, but it won't count.
