Im no expert neither on enlightment, nor personality disorder, but I guess if you are really enlighted everything would be totally clear, no need for this question. As I believe: (though, Im no expert at all) # Weak interpersonal skills Dont think enlightment can cause this symptom. I assume enlightment would lead to the opposite. Maybe enlighted people keep low social profiles and dont have the need to interfer with others, but thats not the same as low skills. They would do it if they found it useful. # Difficulty expressing anger, even when provoked I believe that enlightment would simply cut away the need to express the anger, not the ability to do so. # Appear to others as remote, aloof, and unengaged From what I have read or been told, people close to enlightment rather show a warmth and engagement in whatever they do when they do it. The difference is that they dont feel attached to it. If I got it right, the path to enlightment goes through several states of mind, and some of them are like mental illness. If you are preperad and your mind is clear enough you will understand whats happening and that you just have to continue your practice (with the guidance of a good meditation teacher). If not, you may get lost, think that you already reached the goal, or loose the hope of reaching it. Then you will actually become mentally ill. Well, yes Im just a psycho and no professional, I may be wrong but it is how I think it is. |

| Self enlightment does not mean you are a schzoid personality. As a schzoid personality who enjoys being alone I do engage in a lot of self reflection. One important note schzoid personality do not like to "shoot the breeze"with people, casual conversation isn't necessary. And protect their privacy especially their home like a bear with cubs. It isn't an easy life. I am not void of emotional. I care very deeply for people, and how they feel. I am a very compassionate person, but please don't ask me to bring you chicken soup and sit by your bedside when you are ill. I will sell everything in my house and hire you a nurse. I will give you the shirt off of my back, but please don't try to move in with me to take care of you. I will go hungry and give you every morsel of food I have, but please don't ask me to hand feed you. I will come and visit you in the hospital but not for hours at a time. I think you get the picture. This is unfortunately the traits of schzoid. Oh and by the way I have numerous health problems but under no circumstances do I enjoy attention from it. When I am in the hospital all I ask is for my dog to be looked after. I don't require visitors. I prefer to be left alone to think. I love my family and it is true my relationship is with two sisters, and that's about it. They are my best friends, and two others distant from me. I am not married and do not have any children nor do I desire to be at this point. I do enjoy people when we are engaged in something meaningful, not just going out for pizza. Xmas time is my best time of the year. I love to give gifts but don't like to received them. I know trust issues, but oh well. If this describes anyone out there I am sorry but welcome to the club. | |
