(11-30-98) Hey all. I apologize for the total lack of updates that has plagued this site. But I just checked, and I saw that this site is getting well over 1000 hits per week! Obviously, I feel the need to update and make this site better. I'll be looking into it in the next week or two. Be prepared for an update soon, and possibly some other features. (7-5-98) I forgot that I had never updated the essays when I re-organized the site, so I put them all back up here. I've been incredibly slow with updates lately, due to a week's vacation I took and also do to other web projects I'm working on. I feel that this site is suffering due to infrequent updates, but there isn't a lot that I can do. Hopefully, I'll dig myself out of the enormous pile of submissions I've gotten lately. =/

(5-26-98) Okay, I haven't been updating much, what else is new. Well I did add some interpretations and I've kept the news current, but I still have more interp's to add plus I need to get up more interviews and the essays and mail pages. Work work work. I apologize yet again for the people who've sent interpretations to me that have yet to be displayed. I'm getting there, but it takes time. Hopefully this week, after all the holidays and such are over, I'll get this stuff together.

(5-17-98) First, I'd like to wish a very happy 33rd birthday to Trent Reznor. In cellebration of Trent's birthday, this site got a makeover, as you've probably noticed. The main new stuff includes:

• New main page
• New graphics on Ninterpretations page
• Interpretations are now dated so you can find new ones easier
• New Discussions page, with sub-categories
• New section: Debates
• Increased organization of the site

There are many other new things here, but you'll have to find them on your own. Enjoy the changes, and let me know if there are any problems or dead links.

(5-13-98) Okay, I'm leaving school for the summer in about an hour. I'll have to get used to the different connection and hopefully I'll still be able to update pages as normal. I'll sure miss my shared T1 line though. Well anyway, the big update is still planned for this Sunday. I'm hoping I'll have everything ready by then and that there won't be any uploading problems. Well.. that's all for now.

(4-30-98) Dammit, I wanted to update the interpretations this week but I don't know if I'll be able to now. I've got so much work now that school is coming to an end. Also, I've been putting a lot of my free time into the "new" site. As the front page headlines, on (or around :/) Trent's birthday (May 17th), this site will into it's new look and layout (since the current one is ages old and very stale). You fans of this site are going to love it. What can be expected? I'm going with a mostly gray-scale, metallic sort of look with the graphics. Frames have been ruled out. The Ninterpretations page will remain basically the same, except for some cosmetic changes. I'll debut a bunch of new interp's with the new look though. I may add new pics if I have time for that. Lyrics and Tabs sections will be combined. The main page will have a completely new layout. The Discussions page will also have a new layout, with sections for articles, interviews and a new "active debates" section that you're gonna love. I'm redoing almost every page and adding new pages. Finally, this site will (hopefully) be quality enough to rank up there with some of the major NIN sites on the net.
Oh yeah, I don't know what's up with the Nailz Forum, but hopefully it should be operating normally again soon.

(4-21-98) I added some interpretations today, and now there's a new page, That's What I Get interpretations. I haven't added every interpretation for that song yet so if yours isn't there, don't worry. Hopefully I'll have more time to add stuff later on. And now for the ninterpretations count: 207, not counting the TDS ones or misc interpretations. Woohoo!

(4-16-98) I realize that updates have been few and far between lately and this is because my schedule is so busy, I just don't have enough free time. Today I took the time to (finally) redo my Nailz Newz page. It has a simple, organized look, slightly resembling that of some other NIN news sites. I plan to keep it current and only include relavent NIN news, instead of posting every tedious bit of info that is vaguely connected to the band.
As for interpretations- I know, I know I'm late updating! I'm at least a month behind! I probably won't be able to do a major interpretations update until the 20th. I apologize for the delays.
Oh and as for the NIN interpretations site that I had reported as dying- someone else will be taking it over and running it, so I've got some competition after all. Hopefully it'll make me get my ass in gear!

(3-18-98) Okay, I'm getting ready to open up a section for interpretations of songs other than NIN songs. It will open modestly with just my interpretations of Tool's h., Marilyn Manson's Minute of Decay, and possibly Korn's Faget.
I'd like to apologize to the people who have sent in interpretations to this site for the time it takes for their interpretations to be included. I'm running about a month behind on them. Hopefully I'll be able to catch up a little more in the future.
In other news, the only other major NIN interpretations site on the net has gone belly up. Nailz is now proud to be the only currently updated major interpretations site on the internet! Dare I say, this is now the undisputed source for NIN interpretations? =)

(3-2-98) To all you NIN fans searching for tabs, you've come to the right place! There is now a tabs section at this site with guitar and keyboard tabs. Plus, I've added some random interpretations.

(2-26-98) I added more interpretations today (there's over 130 now), plus a short article on the Discussions page. If anyone is looking for NIN keyboard tabs, I'm talking to someone about that right now and may get some up here. I'm still suffering from the loss of my pages and pics. If you are a regular visitor here, go to Start > Find > Files and Folders and enter "explode.gif". It may be in your cache. I'd really appreciate if anyone could send me that file. Plus, do to the fact that the main page moved, I've been getting like one third the web traffic, which really sucks. More traffic means more interpretations and a more active message board. I'm doing my best to re-establish myself at this new location.

(2-23-98) I added some more interpretations. I figure I'm running about a month behind on them. Hopefully soon I'll be able to catch up. A Down In It interpretations page was added with 5 brand-spanking-new interpretations, as well. I also added another Downward Spiral(album) interpretation. It's toward the end of that page.
I'm still recovering from the loss of my other account. I've recovered a few more graphics, but I'm still missing my explosions! I've send letters to many of the search engines requesting they change my link to the correct one, as well as sent letters to people who've linked to me asking that they fix their links as well. It's not fun to fix a mess like this. But Nailz ~ Interpretations is still 100% in business!

A side note: The Tool, Manson, etc pages have been postponed until I can catch up on the ninterpretations.

(2-22-98) On Friday, 2-20-98, one of my AOL accounts was terminated due to my idiot of a brother. A few of the older pages were lost and still may not be up yet. The most important thing though is that the main Nailz page was located on that account and now all links to it are dead. Not only that, but some art was stored there and that was lost as well. I managed to get the background back, but I don't have my explosions anymore. I need them back!! I'm sure someone out there has the explosion file; it's explode.gif. (2-17-98) Hey, guess what? If you're a regular to this site, you'd know that my previous discussion forum thingy never worked and it was crappy. So I scrapped it and got a new and better one!! (2-17-98) Okay, I got a chance to add some more interpretations. I added a few for A Warm Place, plus ones under Sin, Hurt, Something I Can Never Have, Suck, etc. Maybe later I'll get a chance to add some more.

(2-12-98) Again, I'll apologize for the lack of updating at this site. My mailbox is FULL of interpretations and other stuff and it's gonna take me forever to sort through it all. The problem is, I have very little free time right now. I've got two interviews that need to be put up, plus like 50 interpretations that need to be weeded through. The survey has been down for awhile also because I have no time to run it, but I've already tallied about 100 responses. Hopefully soon I'll be able to do some updating. I apologize to those who've sent me stuff and I haven't put it up yet. I'll try to get it up soon. However, you can click here for a page I just put up..

(2-5-98) It's been a nearly a week since an update! Ack! I'm really busy lately and it's hard to come back to the site every day and update it. Plus, I'm drowning in e-mail. I've got like 30 interpretations waiting to be sorted through and added, but I don't think I'll be able to do that until next week. Plus I've got that survey which recieved over 100 reponses within a week's time, so that's been keeping me busy. Sorry for the delays, people!

On a more positive note, Nailz ~ Interpretations recieved over 1000 hits in a single week last week! This was the first time we broke the 1000 hit mark for a single week! My SiteFlow Nailz counter recorded 1302 hits. Only problem with that is, the Nailz counter was down for all of Sunday and part of Thursday and Saturday. So I'm estimating over 1500 hits for last week! The increase in hits is a direct result of this site finally being included in Yahoo!'s search index. Woo hoo!

(1-22-97) Okay, if you've noticed, I totally reorganized the ninterpretations. I put them all in chronological order and separated them into 2 categories. The first are actual song dissections and they are under "interpretations". The second type are stories or comments on how a particular song relates to that individual. I put them under "relations" since they relate what the song means to that person. If anyone can think of a better thing to call this second type, let me know. Oh yeah, there's over 80 interpretations as of today. And I added a few Reznor quotes on the Terrible Lie, Heresy, and Hurt interpretations pages.

I also added a discussion forum. It's on a free provider, so I can't customize it as much which kinda sucks. Well I spent the time to put it there and I think it's a cool idea so, dammit, start using it, people! Message boards are cool, you can post stuff and people respond, then you check back and post again. Well, that's how it's supposed to work, so go and use it! (Ack! it's not working...should be up again soon. 1/26)

(1-13-97) I hope you are enjoying my Nailz site. I work hard to make it better and add to it. It takes a lot of effort, especially since I have no help with it. Not to mention that every bit of HTML appearing on these pages is written by me using MS Notepad.

Okay, the holidays are over and I have access to all my pages again. I have already begun updating and will continue to update every few days. Check Ninterpretations for new stuff.

Problems with mail- During the fall, my site was directing mail to 2 places- one address doesn't exist anymore and hasn't for a few months now. The other, I've been having difficutly reading mail from. So I've revised all mail to go to one address that actually works.

I've added some new stuff on my site. First of all, I moved most of my site off of AOL..something I had been planning for awhile now. But more importantly, I've added a new easy-response system to my pages. At the bottom of many of my pages, you'll find forms for submitting your own ideas or follow-ups for the song or topic on that page. Hopefully, this will make sending your ideas easier, and increase the diversity and content on my pages. How many times have you wished to explain a NIN song or concept to someone? Now you can do it, and I'll broadcast it to all who pass by my pages.

Other new things I've added: NIN Lyrics- still under construction. NIN Pictures- I've added a few pics to please some of you who have written to me saying that my site would be better with some pics. NIN Survey- just a simple survey to ease my curiosity (2nd in the series). I've got the results from my first survey up now as well. I'm getting a lot of responses and results should be posted on or around Tuesday, Dec. 16.

Also, my pages used to be kind of sloppy and many were difficult to read. This was because I made them awhile ago when I was new to the art of web-page making. But now, I'm going back and revising all of my pages to increase their quality, appearance, and readability.

One more thing (1-13-97)- Soon, I will expand my site to include interpretations of Marilyn Manson, Tool, and Korn songs. Plus, I'm going to reorganize my Ninterpretations page to put it in better order. All this stuff should happen eventually in the future. If you have any interpretations of Korn, Tool or MM songs, feel free to submit them to me. But please do not submit interpretations of songs from any other bands. Remember, I've gotta keep this organized and under control, plus it has to stay on bands that I listen to.

And finally.. for all you other nin page owners or web-ring runners... I want to keep my site completely private and independent, even if it is sacrificing counter hits. I don't wanna "sell out" just to get a few more ticks on the counter. Because first and foremost, I made this site for me. Feel free to link to me if you like..but I do not put links on these pages. It's nothing personal..that's just how I have decided to run my site.
